Pope Leo XIV said his role at the helm of the Catholic Church as one of bridge building in audience with the Holy See's apostolic nuncios.
"The ministry of (Saint) Peter is to create relationships, bridges; and a representative of the Pope is first and foremost at the service of this invitation, this looking into the eyes," the American pontiff told his network of diplomats.
"Always be the gaze of Peter! "Be men capable of building relationships where it is hardest.
"But, in doing this, maintain the same humility and the same realism as Peter, knowing very well that he does not have the solution to everything, but also knowing that he has what counts, Christ, the deepest meaning of every existence".
