Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia did not appear before the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Monday for questioning in connection with a case related to alleged irregularities in the construction of classrooms in Delhi government schools, said official sources.

The ACB registered an FIR on April 30 following allegations of financial irregularities worth approximately ₹2,000 crore in the construction of over 12,000 classrooms and semi-permanent structures in the city’s government schools.

According to the ACB sources, Mr. Sisodia, who was summoned in connection with the probe, cited “prior commitments” for his absence. “We have asked his counsel to give us a tentative date on which Mr. Sisodia can appear,” said an ACB source, adding that the AAP leader will be summoned again shortly.

The ACB had also summoned former Public Works Department Minister Satyendar Jain for questioning in the case on Friday. Mr. Jain complied with the summons and appeared for the interrogation.
