Yesterday's attack on the Boulder Jewish community rally in support of hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza occurred less than two weeks after the May 21 shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers in my home city of Washington, D.C. Each incident took place in the heart of a thriving American Jewish community. These terrorist attacks were not in Tel Aviv, not in Jerusalem, not in Paris or Amsterdam or Djerba, Tunisia. They were in the U.S., in settings emblematic of the deep roots and sense of belonging that Jews have worked hard to cultivate in America.
