President Donald Trump, who’s been hit with “TACO” (Trump Always Chickens Out) taunts on his tariff threats, appeared to gripe about his bargaining difficulties with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Truth Social early Wednesday.
The U.S. and China are in the midst of a 90-day ceasefire of sorts in their tariff war. (Trump and China each accused the other of violating the agreement last week.)
“I like President XI of China, always have, and always will, but he is VERY TOUGH, AND EXTREMELY HARD TO MAKE A DEAL WITH!!!” Trump wrote on Wednesday.
When Trump’s imposed tariffs on China reached 145% in April, he said they would come down “substantially” and that the U.S. would be “very good” to China while noting his “great relationship” with Xi.
