Gary Lineker looked crestfallen today as he left his London home carrying a tote shopping bag after his tearful final Match of the Day appearance.
The 64-year-old former England striker seemed sombre as he went for a bank holiday Monday stroll wearing charcoal denim jeans and a grey crew neck jumper.
At one moment he peered inside what appeared to be an empty bag.
Lineker last night welled up as he bid farewell to the BBC as he hosted Match of the Day for the last time after resigning in shame after sharing an anti-Semitic post.
He 'apologised unreservedly' for his actions, saying he was unaware of the meaning of the symbol and added: 'I would never consciously repost anything anti-Semitic – it goes against everything I stand for'.
