An Israeli strike has killed nine children belonging to a married doctor couple in Gaza as the IDF ramps up its military offensive.
The strike in the southern city of Khan Yunis killed nine of the couple's ten children, who were aged between seven months and 12 years old, according to the region's civil defence agency.
Alaa Najjar, a paediatrician at Nasser Hospital, was on duty when she learned her family home was on fire, Ahmad al-Farra, head of the hospital's pediatric department, said.
Her husband, Hamdi, was critically injured, and their only surviving child, an 11-year-old boy, was in serious condition after the strike on Friday.
Graphic footage shared by the Hamas-run Palestinian Civil Defence shows at least seven tiny bodies being pulled from the rubble one by one.
