A group of divers were dramatically attacked by sharks last week while they explored a remote coral lagoon.
Footage captured how the terrifying encounter unfolded as a diving crew aboard a 12-metre sailing catamaran filmed marine life beneath the waves at Middleton Reef, off the coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Just minutes into their first dive, a group of Galapagos sharks, otherwise known as grey reef whalers, swarmed a female diver who was holding a cinema camera fitted with bright movie lights.
A video shows how the sea predators quickly closed in after rising from below in a sudden burst of commotion.
Within seconds, at least ten were bumping and ramming into the diver, who desperately shoved them away as she screamed underwater.
