Former President Joe Biden posted a photo of himself smiling on Monday with a message thanking his supporters following his cancer diagnosis last week.

“Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support,” he shared with the selfie, which shows him sitting with his wife, Jill Biden.

The photo comes one day after his office announced he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to the bone.
