A businesswoman who was found dead in a back garden was 'violently' stabbed to death, a coroner's court has heard.

The body of Paria Veisi, 37, was discovered at a property in the Penylan area of Cardiff on April 19, seven days after she vanished after leaving work.

Her £40,000 Mercedes was later was found a mile away on a residential street in the Welsh capital, but with no sign of of Ms Veisi.

Her husband Alireza Askari, 41, is accused of murder, preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body and assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm.

An inquest into Ms Veisi's death was opened at South Wales Central Coroner's Court in Pontypridd on Thursday.
