Children hospitalised after puffing on 'vapes laced with drugs'

Three schoolchildren have been rushed to hospital after puffing on a vape believed to have been laced with illegal drugs.

The teenagers became unwell at Unity City Academy in Middlesbrough shortly after 9am yesterday.

A 15-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and is currently in police custody for questioning.

The children, whose ages are unknown, were taken to James Cook University Hospital as a precaution.

While police were called to Unity City Academy, it is believed the students used the vape prior to being on school grounds.
