Cop indicted for fatally shooting another officer over alleged love triangle

Oxendine is accused of fatally shooting Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Captain Adam Bean outside a Hope Mills home on March 27. Investigators state the shooting resulted from a love triangle involving a woman who had previously dated both officers. Text messages revealed in search warrants showed Oxendine repeatedly questioned the woman about her relationship with Bean prior to the shooting. Oxendine was placed on administrative leave and remains held without bond until his next court appearance in November.
