British survivor Janice Brooks was among the few to escape the 11 September 2001 attack which killed 61 of her colleagues, fleeing the 84th floor of the south tower. The 41-year-old had moved to New York three weeks earlier for her dream job as an executive assistant at the brokerage firm Euro Brokers in Two World Trade Center. After the first plane hit the adjacent tower, Brooks spoke to colleagues in London watching the attack on television and decided to evacuate. She and her group were moving between stairwells, likely on the 76th floor, when the second plane struck.
