BRICS Summit 2026: Delhi police steps up security with 15,000 personnel, 200 paramilitary companies

Special Commissioner of Police, Protective Security, Manish Kumar Agrawal says, "... 18th BRICS Summit is being hosted by India, which should be a matter of pride for the entire country, especially Delhi and its residents. Delhi will be a hub where all the summits and related meetings will take place. BRICS currently has 11 members and 10 partner countries. The participation is at a very high level, with at least 16 heads of state, heads of government or heads of international organisations expected to participate. Delhi Police has made extensive arrangements, keeping in mind the security of all dignitaries and ensuring minimum inconvenience to the public. Traffic advisories and temporary restrictions have been issued in advance. I request Delhi residents to read the advisories and follow the temporary restrictions to avoid inconvenience. Delhi Police has coordinated with multiple agencies, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, NSG, IB, ITBP and other CAPFs. Extensive surveys and security arrangements have been made along the routes that will be used by the dignitaries. Detailed arrangements have also been made for security and traffic management. Our objective is to ensure a safe, secure event."
