Governorship candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the seven Northwest states have called for the restoration of the fuel subsidy, saying its removal has worsened economic hardship and the cost-of-living crisis in the region. The candidates made the demand in Abuja while signing the Northwest ADC Governorship Candidates’ Compact 2027–2031, a joint policy framework ahead of the 2027 elections. The document was presented by ADC governorship candidate in Kebbi State and former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN.
