Four of the uncovered mutational footprints were directly linked to aggressive tumours prone to spreading outside the prostate. Other genetic patterns were found to be associated with age and ancestry, including footprints more common in Black men. Researchers hope the findings will lead to better screening tests, earlier identification of high-risk cancers, and personalised treatments.
