Indore loses clean-air crown in 2026, winner from Uttar Pradesh takes top spot

Indore has dropped to second place in the 2026 Clean Air Survey after scoring 197 out of 200, one point behind Lucknow. The city administration attributed the shortfall to PM10 levels and announced measures targeting vehicular and industrial pollution. Despite losing the top spot, municipal data showed a more than 15 per cent decline in Indores PM10 levels in recent years.
