Following a three-year investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Madeya was charged with multiple felonies including theft, fraud, and financial exploitation of an older adult. Allegations detail that Madeya withdrew $75,000 from church accounts, sold a gold chalice for nearly $20,000, and misappropriated nearly $250,000 from his mother. Investigators state Madeya spent the stolen funds on illegal drugs, overseas vacations, cruises, and a $35,500 Ford Mustang for a housemate. Madeya waived a preliminary hearing, had his bail set at $25,000, and is scheduled for a formal arraignment in Westmoreland County Court on October 14.
