NSW Labor has unveiled its plan for 9400 new homes in the city’s inner east. But too few of the new apartments may meet the needs of ordinary residents.

The disused blocks of land straddling Parramatta Road have been languishing for years. If the government gets its way, 340 apartments will be built.
