Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has condemned rising online prejudice. Racist comments targeted flood victims and anti-Indian abuse accompanied business news. He warned that unchecked prejudice can normalize and deepen mistrust between communities. Former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also urged Singaporeans to stand together. Police are investigating these unacceptable racist and xenophobic online posts.

"These people should be unmasked and dealt with, rather than be allowed to hide behind online anonymity," says Senior Minister K Shanmugam.

Minister K Shanmugam has asked police to look at an ‘online mob’ after various comments, including missing Singaporeans being ‘not our own’.
