Before October 27, Israelis should look beyond policies and ask what kind of people want to lead them.

I eagerly await the day, perhaps in the 2028 or 2030 elections, when the current crop of politicians will have passed – and that means everybody from Netanyahu to Lapid and Gafni.

This election should reckon with October 7 and the devastation in Gaza and Lebanon. An election cycle that avoids important issues foreshadows what will happen once it's over
