BCI has no power to take action against law students: SC

The Supreme Court stated the Bar Council of India lacks disciplinary power over law students. Such authority rests solely with the educational institutions where students are enrolled. The Bar Council can only act after a student graduates and registers as an advocate. This observation came during a hearing concerning a withdrawn BCI decision against NALSAR students. The court clarified the BCI's jurisdiction begins only after graduation and enrollment.
