Watch: CM Vijay announces same-day digital driving licences after driving tests

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has announced the launch of digital driving licences and vehicle registration certificates from September 15, 2026. The move aims to ensure corruption-free and transparent governance, avoid delays and make transport-related services easier for the public. Applicants will be able to download digital licences and RCs, while QR codes will allow authorities to verify the documents electronically.
