A BBC presenter has spoken out after Ski Sunday was axed after almost 50 years on television. Olympic skier Chemmy Alcott, who began co-presenting the show alongside Ed Leigh in 2021, told BBC Breakfast she was informed of the cancellation just before the broadcaster's announcement. Explaining why the show ended, the BBC said on Monday (1 September): "Changing audience behaviours and the tough financial decisions needed to meet savings requirements mean BBC Sport must continually review how it delivers value for licence fee payers and serves audiences across all platforms. This decision forms part of that process."
