Robson Green blasts new actors and writers for expecting success without hard work

Speaking to The Telegraph, the 61-year-old actor highlighted a generational sense of embittered belief and expressed frustration over actors arriving on set without even knowing their lines. Green, who runs production companies to support creative opportunities in the North East of England, also voiced disappointment at the quality of TV scripts currently being sent to him. He blamed the decline in script quality on a broader lack of investment in the arts, arguing that emerging writers are not receiving the care, attention and nurturing required to produce high-quality work. Despite his concerns about industry standards, Green continues to support regional projects and recently completed filming for the upcoming BBC family drama Northumbria Mysteries, which was shot on location in Northumberland.
