Bengaluru CA Meenal Goel shared her experience of working with a manager who wanted updates on every task, email and small decision. Initially, she accepted it as normal, but constant monitoring eventually made her stop taking decisions independently and wait for approvals. Goel said micromanagement does not reduce mistakes, but reduces ownership. When employees are monitored at every step, she believes they stop acting like owners and start acting like executors.
