Dan Driscoll resigned after 18 months as Army secretary following months of reported clashes with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is stepping down after 18 months on the job. That’s according to the White House on Monday.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll submitted his resignation to President Donald Trump, three sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

The development follows Driscoll publicly breaking with Hegseth's move to force Gen. Randy George, the ousted Army chief of staff, to retire.
