Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper has pleaded not guilty to charges related to altercations with his ex-girlfriend in June. A jury trial is set for November.

A person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Sunday that Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper will begin the season on the commissioner's exempt list.

The 2021 seventh-round pick will be paid his full salary while on the exempt list, but he can’t play in games or practice with the team.
