In 2014, Great Smoky Mountains National Park funded Ravensford wetland restoration. 10 years later, volunteers had planted 500 native seedlings and removed 157,000 invasives

A decade of restoration work has helped transform the 10-acre Ravensford wetland in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After invasive plants became widespread, a 2014 National Park Foundation/Disney grant supported invasive plant control, seed collection, and native plant propagation. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Central schools, Tribal members, students, conservation crews, interns, and other volunteers contributed to the effort.
