Police say a former Brampton, Ont., lawyer has been charged after allegedly defrauding people of more than $4 million through various mortgage and cheque scams.

Police say a former Brampton, Ont., lawyer has been charged after allegedly defrauding people of more than $4 million through various mortgage and cheque scams.

The 52-year-old man's licence to practice law was revoked last year after he was found by the Law Society Tribunal of Ontario of participating in a 2019 fraud.
