Anandibai Joshi did not live to see her 22nd birthday. However, in her short life, she achieved multiple milestones, becoming the first certified female doctor who specialised in Western medicine and the first Indian woman to travel to the USA to study medicine. Her journey to acquire her degree was not without trials and tribulations.
