Bodies of Nepal flash flood victims found 250 miles away from tragedy

Victims swept away by the floodwaters are being recovered more than 100 miles away in the neighbouring Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with rapid decomposition creating severe health risks. Nepal's foreign minister, Shisir Khanal, stated that international technical assistance is urgently required for DNA identification, tunnel rescues, and restoring destroyed transport links. India has dispatched 60 tonnes of relief supplies alongside technical teams, medical personnel, and prefabricated bridges to support the disaster response. Finance minister Swarnim Wagle estimated that reconstruction efforts will cost up to $5 billion, amounting to roughly a tenth of Nepal's total economy.
