‘If discrimination continued… they failed’: Chirag Paswan hits back at Rahul over untouchability row

Union Minister Chirag Paswan responded to the debate over Dalit discrimination, SC-ST reservation and the proposed ‘creamy layer’ provision. Defending the constitutional basis of reservation, Paswan said it stems from social discrimination and untouchability, not economic criteria. He also hit out at critics of the current system and challenged those seeking a change in its basis to change the Constitution. On the question of creamy layer, Paswan directly asked Jitan Ram Manjhi to resign first if he supported the proposal.
