Choking cross-border air pollution from Indonesian wildfires forces the Malaysian prime minister to relocate his National Day address.

Much of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and parts of Sarawak were affected on Tuesday (Aug 25), with authorities saying haze was moving in “from various directions”.

Sixteen areas in Malaysia had unhealthy air quality as at 9am on Wednesday (Aug 26). The country celebrates its 69th National Day on Aug 31.
