Goa cabinet clears anti-conversion bill, to be tabled in upcoming assembly session

Goa's cabinet has approved a bill against religious conversion, proposing stringent penalties. This bill will be tabled in the state assembly's upcoming monsoon session for consideration. Offenders may face up to life imprisonment and significant fines for unlawful conversions. Marriages conducted solely for religious conversion will be declared void under the new legislation. Similar anti-conversion laws have already been enacted in several other Indian states.
