Delhi couple’s bags arrived ripped open after flight; court orders airline to pay Rs 3.61 lakh

A Delhi consumer commission has ordered American Airlines to pay over Rs 3.61 lakh to a Delhi couple as compensation for two damaged checked bags and missing belongings. The incident occurred during a flight from Miami to Toronto in 2017. The commission held the airline responsible for the baggage while it was in its custody and awarded compensation for the losses, mental harassment and legal expenses.
