Tropical storm to be coincidentally named Dolly following country legend’s passing

The next tropical storm to develop in the Atlantic this hurricane season will be named Dolly. However, the timing is not connected to Parton’s passing on Tuesday. Storm systems are named by procedures set by the World Meteorological Organization, with the lists of names reused every six years. The lists are alphabetical and alternate male and female names for the Atlantic region.
