Supermarket sales in the first eight weeks of this financial year grew 7.6 per cent, boosted by the runaway success of the Disney Ooshies program.

The supermarket giant said sales at its supermarkets had briefly moderated after its rival, Woolworths, launched the Ooshies range of collectible toys.

Chief executive Amanda Bardwell said a focus on value, convenience and better execution had paid off for the supermarket giant.
