Inquest opens after man found dead in plane wheel compartment at Gatwick

The Air Arabia flight arrived at Gatwick from Tangiers in Morocco on 16 June 2026. A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death was cardiac arrest followed by hypoxia and hypothermia. Sussex Police launched an investigation after a ground engineer discovered the body inside the landing gear compartment. The inquest at Horsham Coroner's Court has been adjourned until 24 February 2027.
