Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore has backed the establishment of federal, state and local government police in Nigeria, but called for governors’ security votes to be removed and placed in an escrow account to fund the proposed policing structures. Sowore made the remarks while speaking at the ongoing Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Monday, monitored by SaharaReporters.
