BEIJING: China's manned space agency said on Sunday (Aug 23) it is delaying a research moonmission that is part of Beijing's efforts to land a crew there by 2030, less than two weeks after a rare launch failure.

China has postponed its planned ambitious Chang’e-7 lunar mission. The mission was set to search for water ice on the moon.

Historic mission expected as early as Monday has been postponed after safety and reliability assessment, China Manned Space Agency says.

The Chang’e 7 mission does not meet the conditions for launch."
