Police officers who died in A66 crash hailed as ‘heroes’

The crash occurred when a Volkswagen Passat travelling the wrong way down a dual carriageway struck their marked armed response vehicle. All five occupants of the Volkswagen Passat were also killed, bringing the total death toll from the incident to seven.
