India has reached a new milestone in small-arms manufacturing with the successful firing of the first fully indigenous AK-203 ‘Sher rifle. Produced at IRRPLs Amethi facility using Indian components and raw materials, the weapon is now being prepared for Army trials. The company also plans to accelerate production and bring forward delivery of approximately 6 lakh rifles for the Indian Army.
