Psychology and behaviour science research suggest that walking may help the brain generate new ideas, especially during creative brainstorming. A systematic review of 23 studies involving more than 1,000 people found a strong link between walking and divergent thinking, although walking does not appear to improve every type of problem-solving. Earlier Stanford research also found that people produced more creative responses while walking than while sitting.
