State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest lender, has expanded the scope of cash withdrawal charges for Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts (BSBDA), a move that industry sources say is aimed at plugging a leakage in fee income while simultaneously nudging customers towards digital transaction

SBI announces ₹15 charge for cash withdrawals exceeding four transactions monthly from basic savings accounts starting October 1, 2026.

Customers are requested to take note that all digital transactions will continue to be free without any restriction, SBI said. | India News
