Gibson targeted two women via the dating app Tinder, sending staged photographs of himself in hospital beds to trick them into taking out loans and credit card debt to pay for pretend medical treatments and luxury goods. His victims suffered severe financial and emotional harm, with one woman losing over £21,000 and another describing him in court as a con artist who broke her as a person.
