Karnataka CM Shivakumar seeks Southern Zonal Council resolution to retain 543 Lok Sabha seats, honour 1971 census

Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar urged the Southern Zonal Council to adopt a resolution. He called for the 1971 census to be the basis for delimitation and Lok Sabha seat numbers. Shivakumar also requested that the existing 543 Lok Sabha seats remain unchanged for twenty-five years. He emphasised accommodating women's reservation within these current parliamentary seats.
