‘Armed Naxals gone, but ideological Naxals seek opportunities’: PM Modi urges ‘Identify & Isolate’

From the Red Fort on India’s 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned against what he called ‘intellectual Naxals’ (Dimagi Naxals), saying the armed insurgency may be declining but its ideological challenge remains. He alleged that people with a Maoist mindset had influenced government committees and public policy, urging citizens to ‘identify and isolate’ them. Modi also recalled the human cost of decades of Naxal violence, hailed progress in ending insurgency and called on young Indians to contribute to a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’.
