Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has clarified that app-based cab drivers working for platforms such as Ola, Uber and Rapido will not receive any exemption from the state's mandatory Marathi language requirement.

The Maharashtra government had said in July that licences of taxi and auto-rickshaw drivers who fail to clear a language test will be cancelled from August 16.
