Toyota Prius architect Hiroshi Okuda dies at 93 after leading the company’s push for local production and mass-market hybrid power in the 1990s.

As Toyota president from 1995, Okuda championed the development of the Prius, helping bring Toyota’s pioneering petrol-electric hybrid to market.
