Scientists developed an acoustic anti-drone system to disable unauthorized unmanned aerial vehicles. This technology uses sound waves to disrupt drone balance sensors, causing instability and potential falls. The system targets internal sensors, making it effective against automated drones without remote control signals. India faces a growing threat from drones used for smuggling and warfare operations. This acoustic system offers a complementary layer to existing counter-drone technologies.

The Pune-based company makes DRONAAM, a modular counter-drone system carried as a rifle or a backpack, and has been delivering it to the Indian Air Force since 2022.
